Richard Seddon holds a degree and PhD in Materials Science from Loughborough University (UK) (1996, 2000), with over 18 years of experience at Tecnalia in the Multifunctional Materials and Materials for Extreme Conditions Groups).

Responsible for the coordination of R&D work packages of several projects of the European FP7 and H2020 programs. Topics include applications for security (SECUREMETRO, ECOBALLIFE), aeronautics (ADVITAC, ELECTRICAL, PLATFORM, OASIS), telecommunications, electronics (AGAPAC, GREENDIAMOND) and nano security (SABYNA).

Coordinator of the testing program of the FP7 SECUREMETRO project (protection of railway vehicles against explosive attacks).

Non-Governmental Expert within the European Defence Agency’s “CapTech Materials and Structures” group.
