Dear Visitors of Future Forces Forum, Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is a great honour for me that the 16th edition of the Future Forces Forum, a highly respected platform for security and defence professionals from the public as well as private sector to interact, is again held under the auspices of the Minister of Defence. This year we are gathering in a time when security and defence issues are more acute than ever before.

The current geopolitical situation, marked by the continuing war in Ukraine, places increased demands on the provision of NATO nations’ defence capabilities. The Future Forces Forum is therefore an ideal venue for us to find answers to the threats emerging today and in the years ahead.

Supporting Czech defence and security industry is one of my high priorities. The Czech Republic enjoys a long defence industrial tradition, which goes back to the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918. Although our country inherited an unevenly developed arms-making capacity then, we quickly managed to build a strong industrial base, which nowadays ranks us among recognised players in this branch.

The Future Forces Forum represents a unique opportunity for intensifying international cooperation at all levels. At the same time, the FFF enables us to present some of the state-of-the-art technologies the Czech Armed Forces has used, and expand familiarity with innovations from all around the world.

I am confident that this year’s issue of Future Forces Forum will again confirm its strong position on the international scene and will help strengthen our ability to effectively meet new challenges.

I would like to thank very much to the organisers and I am looking forward to the next successful edition.

Jana ČERNOCHOVÁ
Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic
