YKK offers Total Fastening Solutions. We work with our customers to deliver quality fastening
products that meet their ever‐changing needs. Our zippers, snaps, buckles and other fasteners are
found in Personal Protective Equipment, Government Demand, Medical Use and Special Protective
Clothing.
FIRE COLLECTION: Our Fire retardant products include zippers, snaps, plastic buckles and hook and loop
fasteners, these are commonly used in fireman’s clothing and other equipment such as boots. Our
Fire Retardant coveralls can be used in the oil and gas industry whilst our FR uniforms and protective
equipment are used for the military and police.
AQUA COLLECTION: Our water tight and water resistant fasteners comprise of zippers, snaps, buttons
and rivets. The fasteners from our Aqua collection are used in a wide spectrum of clothing and
equipment, outdoor jackets, motorcycle clothing, tents, back packs, semi dry suits, survival suits,
diving suits, CBRN clothing, tents and bags.
COMFORT COLLECTION: Our specially developed fasteners have unique features such as quick opening,
light weight, heavy duty, elasticity and various others which all provide additional comfort to end
users. Our fasteners from the Comfort Collection are used in a wide selection of applications such as
inflatable personal flotation devices, emergency bags, marine equipment, clothing with elastic fabric,
shelter systems, high visibility clothing and equipment, military and police clothing and equipment
which includes attack vests and bags.
YKK was founded in Japan in 1934 by Tadao Yoshida. The YKK Group is currently engaged in business
in 71 countries/regions around the world and employs over 44,000 people. Our management system
divides the world into six regional bases: North and Central America; South America; Europe, the
Middle East & Africa (EMEA); China; Asia; and Japan. Apart from zippers, YKK also supplies other
fastening products like snaps & buttons, textiles and plastics, hook & loop self‐closing tape fastening
systems, webbings, metal and plastic notions and buckles. YKK also produces aluminium building
products like window and entrance systems for low, medium and high rise applications.
