Portable Line Illumination Systems
POSTER: The main aim of this contribution is description of side emitting plastic optical fibers (SEPOF) basic properties and their efficient embedding into fibrous structures for creation of line illuminating textile structures with active visibility in shadows. Line illumination system is composed from SEPOF in fibrous tube, light emitting diode (LED) and rechargeable battery with control unit. These systems can be used for some applications where the standard lighting is not efficient or impossible: • Silhouette visualization in the dark conditions for active visibility of persons, objects, and animals. • Temporary security and emergency lighting systems. • Temporary setting of limits or bounding of space (parking barriers, runways). • Illumination in remote areas without access to electricity
Senior researcher with titles in Textile Engineering from the Technical University of Liberec. Specialist in texiles technical desing, textile metrology and modelling of textile structures, beinng coordinating textile part of national research center “TEXTIL” and actively working in several international R&D projects and studies, related to standard and protective clothing and multifunctional textiles with active lighting capability. Scientific worker of recent projects namely for Defense Agencies abroad. She is author or coauthor of more than 40 publications in international journals and about two times more of presentations in international conferences and chapters in 15 books. Her research and teaching activities are advanced textile metrology and quality control, engineering of textile structures and thermal comfort.
